Suspect arrested for possession of drugs in Bishop Lavis

Western Cape: By participating in efforts to address the causes of crime, members from Project Stabilisation responded to information about alleged illegal drug activity and proceeded to Montana in Bishop Lavis yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 14:15 they entered and searched a residence in Downing Street where they seized a sports bag containing various plastic bags with Mandrax. A total of 1375 Mandrax tablets and various broken tablets was seized, to an estimated street value of R70 000.

A 33-year-old man was arrested and is to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court, once charged.

The abuse of illegal substances is one of the root causes of violent crime, and the members from Project Stabilisation are lauded for their efforts to take drugs off our streets.
