Eastern Cape: A 36-year-old male was arrested last night for dealing in mandrax in Govan Mbeki locality in Kwadwesi. This follows after the Motherwell Operational Command Centre received information of the drugs at a house in the area. On searching the premises at about 23:00, a shotgun round and more than 1300 tablets of mandrax were found with an estimated street market value of R65 000-00.
The suspect will be charged with dealing in mandrax as well as the illegal possession of ammunition. He will appear before the New Brighton Magistrates Court on 29 June 2017.
