Western Cape: The endeavours of members of the Maitland Flying Squad to fight serious and violent crimes in the Province, with our #Back2Basics approach, has yielded another success.
Members conducted an operation yesterday afternoon at a residence in the Guguletu, in search of an illegal firearm. Although the firearm was not found, the operation led to the discovery of 268 mandrax tablets, a substantial amount of cash as well as the presumed precious metal comprising two gold blocks, three packets of gold balls and 273 gold coins. The value of these items is yet to be determined as well as the authenticity thereof.
Three suspects were arrested and they are due to make a court appearance in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
