Nine suspects arrested in Wellington with a large quantity of dagga

During the early hours of this morning member attached to the Boland, K9 unit spotted a minibus taxi under suspicious circumstances on the Klipheuwel Road and stopped the vehicle for a routine inspection which led to the discovery of 29 bags filled with dagga weighing 460 kg. The dagga with an estimated street value of R680 000 was confiscated and nine suspects between the ages of 25 and 45 were arrested.

Once charged, the suspects are due to make a court appearance in Wellington on a charge of dealing in drugs. The circumstances surrounding the matter are still under investigation.
