Four alleged drug dealers are due to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court

KwaZulu-Natal: Four alleged drug dealers are due to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today for dealing in drugs. The suspects aged between 17 and 25 were caught by various Units who were conducting an operation at Sydenham area.

The members kept observation at a flat in Wattle Grove, Sydenham since 21 March 2017. Through their observations, they saw persons visiting premises and leaving with packages and further sales taking place at a nearby garage. Yesterday, 26 March 2017 at about 12:00, they proceeded to the said flat and found four suspects packaging heroin powder into empty capsules. The members recovered 15000 heroin capsules, two kilogrammes of heroin powder and 100 000 empty capsules. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is about R1 million.

In another incident, yesterday morning at 10:00 members from Port Shepstone Public Order Police Project Team members were conducting an operation in the Port Shepstone Central Business District and taxi rank where they arrested two suspects aged 26. The suspects were in possession of 403 capsules of heroin and were then arrested and charged. They are set to appear today in the Port Shepstone Magistrates’ Court.
