At approximately 10:50 EMER-G-MED’s RV5, M01, A04 and A09 responded to the scene of a taxi crash on Canning Road in the dip, Lombardy East.
It’s alleged that a vehicle had broken down in the dip, another bakkie braked hard to avoid hitting it and swerved to the right. The taxi failed to brake in time and swerved to left, rear-ending the broken down vehicle.
A total of 10 passengers, including a heavily pregnant woman, sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
They were treated on the scene before being transported to various nearby facilities for further care.
