Durban Flying Squad Narcotic Task Team arrested a 30-year-old woman for possession of drugs. She will appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today, 29 August 2016. More arrest are expected to be made in this case.
The members were conducting their crime prevention duties on Friday, 26 August 2016 at about 21:17, when they followed up on information about drugs in Central Business District in Durban.
They proceeded to a flat at 4th floor when they found 48kg of cocaine powder to the street value of R 3 million. The suspect who was in the flat was arrested and charged accordingly. The members also found R701 000.00 cash from the flat.
The dedicated team will continue to get rid of drugs in and around Durban to make sure that it does not reach our youth. We also appeal to the community to continue working together with the police in fighting drugs in the province.
