Stop-and-search near Fraserburg leads to drug arrests

Three men aged between 23 and 44-years-old appeared today, 25 January 2016 before Fraserburg Magistrates’ Court on a charge of dealing in drugs.

On Sunday 24 January 2016 at about 15:30 police in Fraserburg received information about two vehicles that were transporting drugs enroute from Leeu Gamka. The police responded immediately and set up a road block on the said road. Dagga weighing 11,96kg and 60 mandrax pills were recovered. The drugs are estimated to the street value of R34 685.00.

The Fraserburg Station Commander, Captain CJ Prins lauded the members for the swift response and thanked the community members for coming forward with information and helping the police in eradicating the use of drugs and substance abuse as this contribute enormously to the commission of various crimes, including serious and violent crimes. He added that drugs and drug dealers will not be tolerated in Fraserburg area. Police investigation continues.
